For the PY0120 error (Issuer decline) in sandbox: Use a valid test card from the Sandbox Credentials and Cards list. Ensure the card number, expiry date, and CVV are correctly entered. For the PY0016 error (System has encountered a systematic error or is unreachable/timed out): Retry the request. If the issue persists, check the Sandbox Health Page for service outages. If the error continues, create a ticket in the Maya Developer Hub Service Desk with the request reference number and full logs.

I ran into similar issues while testing payment flows in a sandbox. One thing that helped was checking the exact test card and error scenario instead of treating every decline as a code issue. It’s also worth checking the sandbox status if the request is timing out or returning a system error. Keeping separate test cases for successful payments, declines, and 3DS makes it much easier to find where the problem is.
