Hi if my terminals are ECR integrated, how can I prompt Google pay or Apple Pay to the customer? How is it different with the current card payments?
ECR-integrated Maya Terminals do not support prompting Google Pay or Apple Pay as payment options during in-store transactions. These digital wallets are only available through Maya Checkout (hosted online payment page), not via ECR-integrated terminals.
For ECR-integrated terminals, supported payment methods include:
- Card payments (dip, swipe, or tap via NFC)
- QRPh (for other e-wallets and banks)
- Maya Wallet (via QR scan)
Apple Pay and Google Pay are processed differently:
- Apple Pay: Works via contactless tap on Maya Terminals, but only if the terminal is used standalone (not ECR-integrated). When ECR-integrated, the terminal treats Apple Pay as a standard NFC card payment — no special Apple Pay interface is shown.
- Google Pay: Only available on Maya Checkout’s hosted page; not supported on any terminal, including ECR-integrated ones.
To accept Apple Pay or Google Pay, use Maya Checkout for online payments. For in-store ECR integrations, rely on card-based NFC (tap) or QR-based methods as documented.

Google Pay and Apple Pay are handled through the Terminal’s existing card/contactless payment flow.
There is no separate API call required from the ECR specifically to trigger Google Pay or Apple Pay. The ECR only needs to initiate the card payment transaction; the Terminal’s contactless capability determines how the customer presents the payment.
In short:
ECR → Card Payment Request → Maya Terminal → Customer taps card/phone/watch → Payment processed → Transaction result returned to ECR.
The main difference is the payment credential presented by the customer. Google Pay and Apple Pay use tokenized card credentials, while a physical card uses the card’s contactless credential.
